The Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC is a multi-story building with 101 rooms for the Marine Corps Expeditionary Forces. Within a large contemporary-style lounge and common area Thorburn Associates provided audiovisual design services, including three gaming kiosks, two large screen movie/TV viewing areas with surround sound, and wireless internet. The BEQ’s were created with a modern appeal and design elements to give the marines a more comfortable feeling of home. The Cherry Point BEQ was awarded LEED Gold certification.
