Lighting Design
Illumination also includes direct natural light, indirect natural light, indirect artificial light and reflected light, as well as the control of all light sources.
In most facilities the illumination levels are a key component to successful outcomes. Our work and research confirms there are optimal lighting levels and that appropriate lighting improves performance.
Thus a primary function of lighting/illumination design is to plan for the most effective illumination in relation to each space to enhance visual comfort and productivity.
At TA we also recognize that Energy standards, such as LEED certification and ASHRAE-IES building energy targets, must be addressed in the design. Utilizing lighting design to reduce total lighting loads while still supporting a productive, pleasing, and safe environment is an integral aspect of a successful environment.
