The University of North Carolina at Wilmington necessitated a new residential dining facility on campus to elevate the student dining experience. Named The Shore, the single story, 22,000sf space is an all-you-care-to-eat facility including both indoor and outdoor dining areas, food service platforms, kitchen and kitchen support areas. It is also 3-star Green Restaurant Certified and is a 5-star Ocean Friendly Establishment due to its location on the Eastern coast. Thorburn Associates provided acoustical design services, addressing room acoustics, sound isolation, and mechanical noise and vibration control for the new building.
