Privacy Policy

Effective July 28, 2026

This policy explains what information ta-inc.com collects and what we do with it. The site is operated by Mammoth Design Group LLC, doing business as Thorburn Associates (“Thorburn Associates,” “we,” or “us”), together with any affiliated companies now or later under common ownership or control with it. It covers this website only. It does not cover information we hold about clients under a signed agreement or about our own employees.

The Short Version

This site exists to show our project work and to let prospective clients, design partners, and job candidates get in touch with us. There is nothing to buy and no account to create. The only personal information we receive is what you send us through a form, plus standard web traffic data about which pages visitors read. We do not sell it.

Information You Give Us

If you fill out a form on our site, whether a project inquiry, a newsletter signup, a Lunch & Learn request, or a question about continuing education, we receive what you typed into it. That usually means your name, email address, phone number, company, and whatever you wrote in the message field.

Job applications start on a third-party hiring platform that our Careers page links to. That platform collects your application under its own privacy policy. Once your materials reach us, we hold and use them to evaluate you for the role, and this policy applies to our handling of them.

Information Collected Automatically

Our site records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed and how long you stayed, and the site or search that sent you here. This comes from cookies and similar tracking technologies placed by our site and by the third-party services listed below.

Cookies and Analytics

Yes, third parties may collect information about your online activity over time and across other websites when you use our site. The analytics and marketing services we use each set their own cookies or similar identifiers, receive the technical information described above, and use it for their own purposes as well as ours.

As of the effective date above, those services are:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, for website traffic measurement and for loading our other tags. Google describes how it handles data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can block Google Analytics entirely with Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • HubSpot, our customer relationship management and email marketing platform, which records page visits and links them to inquiries we receive.
  • Jetpack and WordPress.com Stats, a second traffic counter built into the WordPress software our site runs on, operated by Automattic.

We do not currently run advertising on this site, and no advertising pixel is installed. If that changes, this list and the effective date change with it. To limit interest-based advertising across many companies at once, the industry opt-out pages at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org cover most major ad networks. Google’s own controls are at adssettings.google.com.

Your browser settings will also block or delete cookies. Doing that may break parts of our site. You can still reach us by phone or mail.

Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal to the sites you visit. No common industry standard ever emerged for how sites should respond, and ours does not respond to it. Newer opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, work differently and are recognized under several state privacy laws. If we become subject to a law requiring us to honor those signals, we will honor them and update this page.

How We Use What We Collect

  • To answer your question or respond to a project inquiry
  • To send our newsletter or continuing education announcements, if you asked for them
  • To understand how people find and use the site
  • To keep the site running and protect it from abuse
  • To meet our legal, tax, and professional recordkeeping obligations

Who We Share It With

Service providers who help us operate receive personal information so they can do that work for us. That includes our website host, our email and CRM platform, and the analytics services named above. We may also share information among our affiliated companies, and we may disclose it when the law requires it or when we need to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

If the business is sold or merged, customer and inquiry records would transfer with it.

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not rent or trade contact lists. Several state privacy laws define “sale” and “sharing” more broadly than that, in ways that can cover the advertising and analytics cookies described above. We are not currently subject to those laws, but we would rather describe what happens than rely on a definition.

How Long We Keep It

Correspondence about a project or inquiry stays on file for as long as it is useful to the working relationship, and as long after that as our recordkeeping, professional liability, and insurance obligations require. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Analytics and CRM records are kept under each provider’s retention settings. Google Analytics limits visitor-level data to a set window, while records tied to a contact in our CRM persist as long as that contact record does.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including access controls and vendors we have vetted. No method of transmitting or storing data is perfectly secure. Please do not send anything highly sensitive through a web form.

Your Choices

Marketing emails from our newsletter platform carry an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribes promptly. You can also write, call, or email us using the details below to ask what website-related information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time. Records we are legally or professionally required to keep are the exception.

State Privacy Rights

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and a growing list of other states give residents the right to see, correct, or delete personal information a business holds about them, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Those laws reach businesses above size thresholds we do not meet, so Thorburn Associates is not a covered business under them today. That may change, and this page will change with it.

In the meantime, we will respond to a reasonable request from any visitor, in any state, who wants to know what this site has collected about them, or wants it corrected or deleted. Contact details are at the bottom of this page. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm who you are before acting.

California’s “Shine the Light” law separately lets California residents ask once a year whether we disclosed their personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes. We do not make disclosures of that kind.

Children

We work with design and construction professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors Outside the United States

Thorburn Associates is a United States company. Information collected through this site is stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws differ from those in your country. This site is not directed to residents of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and we do not market services to them through it. We do work with clients abroad, and if you are one of them you can ask us about your information the same way anyone else can.

Changes to This Policy

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the effective date at the top is revised. Checking back occasionally is the way to see where things stand.
